Here is a brief summary of the main events that happened in Festival Week.

Saturday 14th June: Gala Day: Home Guard, Cream teas (Village Hall), Bath of Beans (Tichenham Inn)

Gala Day at Swakeleys House: 50 stalls, Fun and Games, Sports, Balloon ride, Bouncy castles, Barbecues, Music,  Martial arts, ATC Band. See below for details.

Music for a Summer Evening: with Vyners Swing Band and Perry Parsons Big Band; finishing with fireworks.    


Daily events: Shop window competition, Village treasure hunt (FoE), Childrens' art, Open gardens, Music at St Giles, Beer Festival at Tichenham Inn, Scarecrow competition, Residents Association quiz.

Saturday 7th June: Art exhibition, Forecourt sale (URC), Open studio, Flower festival (St Giles), Tag rugby (Uxbridge Rugby Club), Train rides (IDSME), Glebe Fete (Glebe School).

Sunday 8th June: Festival service (St Giles), Flower Festival, Open Studio, Scrapbooking (Guide HQ), Dogs Trust (Harefield Rd), Water walk (Swakeleys Park), Play tennis (Wayfarers), t-shirt design (Tichenham Inn).

Monday 9th June: Open studio, Vyners School Music (St Giles), Teddy Bear picnic (Swakeleys Park), Society of disabled artists (TOC-h), Childrens' crafts (Library), After school club (Tichenham Inn), Local history Walk (Village Pump).

Tuesday 10th June: Church tour (St Giles), Open studio, Glebe School Music (St Giles), Healthy walks (Library) , Music showcase (St Giles) , Monkey music (St Giles Hall), Strawberry Fayre (Guide HQ) , Rosie Whitehouse (Library), Natural History Walk (Village Pump), Local quiz (Tichenham Inn).Marching Band

Wednesday 11th June: Craft exhibition (URC), Open studio, Open bowls (Bowls Club), Matthew Curtis Piano (St Giles), Garden party, Plant surgery (Horticultural Society Hut), Songs and monologues (URC), Pavement art (Library), Open rehearsal (St Giles), Ladies night (Tichenham Inn).

Thursday 12th June: Craft exhibition (URC), Coffee morning (URC), Rugika lunch, Festival Lunch (St Giles), Breakspear School Music (St Giles), Church tours, Spot the scarecrow, Flower arranging (Village Hall), Family ramble (Village Pump).

Friday 13th June: Craft exhibition (URC), Coffee morning (URC), Bishop Ramsey School Music (St Giles), Cake and crosswords (Library), James Bond cocktails (Tichenham Inn), Piano recital (Compass).

Sunday 15th June: Closing Service at Swakeleys House, Family Cycle Ride (Bikewise), Dedication of Gospel Oak, Festival Duck Race
